Before you apply: check two things

1. Are you eligible? You must be a woman living in West Bengal, aged between 25 and 60 years. You must not pay income tax. You must not be in permanent government employment or get a regular government salary or pension. Read the full rules on our eligibility page.

2. Were you already getting Lakshmir Bhandar? As per the official notification, existing Lakshmir Bhandar beneficiaries are migrated to Annapurna Yojana. There are exceptions, such as names found dead, shifted, deleted or absentee in the special revision of the electoral roll, and other categories listed in the notification. How to apply for Annapurna Bhandar online, step by step

For the Annapurna Bhandar apply online 2026 process, you only need a phone with internet. The official pages do not publish the exact screens or button names for the Annapurna Bhandar portal online apply process, and they can change. Use these steps as a general guide.

1. Keep your EPIC, Aadhaar card, bank passbook and your mobile phone with you.
2. Open the official Annapurna Bhandar online apply website: socialregistry.wb.gov.in. Check the address bar.
3. Look for the option for the Annapurna Yojana application.
4. If the portal asks you to verify your mobile number, enter the OTP (one time password) sent by SMS.
5. Fill in your details slowly. Your name, age and address should match your Aadhaar and EPIC.
6. Enter your bank account details. The account must be in your own name and linked to Aadhaar.
7. Upload or enter document details if the portal asks for them.
8. Read everything once more, then submit.
9. Write down or take a screenshot of any application reference number shown. You may need it to check your status.

How to apply offline at a government office

If you do not have a smartphone or the internet, you can still apply. This is the Annapurna Bhandar offline method.

1. Go to the right office. This is the BDO (Block Development Officer) office in village areas, the SDO (Sub-Divisional Officer) office in towns, or a ward office in the KMC (Kolkata Municipal Corporation) area.
2. Ask for the "Annapurna Yojana Family Level Data Collection form". It is free.
3. Fill it in carefully, or ask staff to help you.
4. Attach copies of your documents if asked. Carry originals too.
5. Submit the form and ask for any receipt or reference number.

Is Annapurna Bhandar registration still open

As reported in the news, the registration window was announced as 90 days. Reports differ on later dates. So we cannot tell you a sure last date.

What happens after you apply

1. Officials enquire into your application.
2. The BDO (rural) or SDO (urban) recommends eligible applicants online to the District Magistrate. In KMC areas, KMC officers do this.
3. The District Magistrate, or the Commissioner, KMC, sanctions the case.
4. The money, Rs 3,000 a month, is paid by DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) into your Aadhaar-linked bank account.
