How the Lakshmir Bhandar to Annapurna Bhandar transfer works
The notification from the Department of Women and Child Development and Social Welfare covers the Lakshmir Bhandar to Annapurna Bhandar transfer. In simple words, women already in Lakshmir Bhandar are moved, or migrated, into the new scheme.
Not everyone moves across. The notification leaves out people who were found dead, shifted, deleted or absentee electors in the special revision of the electoral roll. Annapurna Lakshmir Bhandar: one name or two schemes?
Many people search for "Annapurna Lakshmir Bhandar" or "Annapurna Lokkhir Bhandar". These searches mix the two names. Lakshmir Bhandar is the earlier scheme. Annapurna Yojana, called Annapurna Bhandar, is the newer one, and existing Lakshmir Bhandar beneficiaries are migrated into it.

Who can get Annapurna Yojana
- A woman residing in West Bengal, and a lawful resident of the state.
- Aged between 25 and 60 years.
- Does not pay income tax.
- Not in permanent government employment, and not getting a regular salary or pension from government bodies listed in the notification.
- Has a bank account in her own name linked to Aadhaar.
